First Level Operational Objective--Behavioural Objective
To demonstrate the required competency, the student must solve mathematics problems applied to woodworking in accordance with the following conditions, criteria and specifications.
Conditions for Performance Evaluation
- Following instructions
- Using a stock-cutting list
- Using speed and feed charts
- Using a calculator
General Performance Criteria
- Correct analysis of problems
- Appropriate choice of formulas
- Correct application of formulas
Specification of the expected behaviour:
- A. Estimate the cost of a product
- accurate identification of main element that determines the cost of a product
- accurate information concerning the cost of raw materials, that is:
- accurate calculations of length, area, and volume
- accurate estimate of waste percentage
- accurate information concerning labour costs
- B. Change the different speeds
- appropriate changes according to:
- materials
- tools
- cutting speed of tools
- feed rates
- machining process
The Evaluation Criteria table gives a much clearer view of what is expected to be covered in this 30 hour module.
